Your Weight & Stress

In these modern times, humans have many new and unique ways of stressing themselves out such as traffic, cell phones, deadlines, noise pollution, depression, war, etc.    We are under constant blitzkrieg. Basically, we are not prepared to deal with this new modern type of every day stress.  So as a result, many people unknowingly turn to food as an outlet.  They are essentially self medicating using food.  Many people become static on their sofas at night while receiving subliminal programming from their TV sets, which tell you to eat, eat and eat.  This is extremely harmful and counter productive.

Stress needs to be dealt with properly by utilizing well known stress reducing techniques, such as exercise, meditation, yoga, proper rest and breathing exercises.  A lot of the time much of the stress people experience is even self inflicted.

As far as diet for an outlet to stress, this is a much simpler lifestyle change than you think and it can begin right away.  This will take personal motivation and you must learn how to set goals for yourself.  Below are some simple tips.

- Eat before you become hungry
- Snack on healthy foods (carrots, celery, fruit, nuts)
- Stay on a schedule (try to eat meals at the same time each day)
- Take a 20 minute walk each night after dinner
- Eat Whole Grains (Whole What breads and brown rice)
- Avoid sugar
- Drink plenty of purified water
- Exercise daily

A Nice Long Deep Breath

A nice long breath brings great health and transformation.  It oxygenates the body and nurtures your very life force.

But living in constant rush and over activity we are completely desensitized to the most beautiful gift that we carry inside of us. A nice long guided breath can enhance productivity. A nice breath oxygenates, energizes and cleans our bodies. It clears our mind and helps to balance out our emotions. It is preventive medicine. The immeasurable health effects of physical exercising, the amazing pleasure of sex or the silence of meditation are all directly related to our breathing.  Mindful breathing is a way toward self empowerment and conscious evolution.  Self empowerment is important if you want to get on the road to success.

One very important function of our breathing is hugely forgotten: it gives our body a healing massage from the inside. The movement of our diaphragm, which is the big breathing muscle in the center of our body, gives a constant massage to our inner organs in belly and chest. It cleanses them from waste, allows good circulation, oxygen supply and keeps us young and healthy.

The Benefit of a Fiber Rich Diet

It’s a well known fact that a diet rich in fiber can keep you regular and even lower cholesterol levels.  Currently, researchers are also finding that fiber also plays a large role in a healthy immune system. Fiber remains mostly unchanged as it moves through your immune system, basically playing the role of an internal broom. A recently published article in the Journal of Nature found that a plant based diet rich in fiber works with your beneficial gut bacteria and your immune system to promote health as well as possibly prevent a number of different diseases.

The scientists conclude that their current research gives compelling reasons to eat a diet rich in unprocessed whole foods such as fresh fruits, vegetables, grains, nuts and seeds. “The role of nutrition and gut intestinal bacteria in immune responses is an exciting new topic in immunology, and recent findings including our own open up new possibilities to explore causes as well as new treatments for inflammatory diseases such as asthma,” said Professor Mackay.
